About Us

bohemianvan founders

It all started nearly ten years ago with an innocent sentence:

“Shall we buy a T3?”

And then it took off. Literally.

We knew almost nothing about van life, but the idea of having a vehicle in which we could travel, sleep, and explore the world in a way that no other method allows attracted us. We don’t belong to those who enjoy all-inclusive vacations in hotel resorts, so this lifestyle quickly grew dear to our hearts.

Our first project was a VW T3, which we converted ourselves. After a year of work, we tasted what life on wheels was like for the first time. We still remember the nights spent in the workshop, how the vehicle would overheat in the first few months and could only drive about 20 km before needing to be cooled down and have water added. We recall the joy we felt when we managed to find upholstery that was more than dirty and cost an incredible amount of money, but after cleaning, we were proud to have it. The excitement was even greater when we first went camping both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The T3 always supported us, and we enjoyed a lot of joy.

But then it came. And it hurt. The realization that for trips to more distant places, we would need something bigger. Our T3 is great, but for a journey that, for example, takes 14 days with a Sprinter, it takes at least twice as long with the T3. The idea quickly turned into reality. In Cologne, we spotted a Sprinter, bought a one-way ticket, and the next day we were racing back home across Germany in the Sprinter.

Months of work and sacrifices followed, building, changes, and modifications until it was finished. In the meantime, we tested everything on smaller and larger trips, always returning home with a head full of ideas about what and how to fine-tune, change, and adjust.

One day, we focused on temperature regulation and ensuring privacy in the vehicle—whether in summer or winter, especially in places where ideally no one should know about you.

And thus, BohemianVan Magnetic Window Covers for windows were created, which ensure both, look great, and are user-friendly. What more could we wish for? Perhaps just for our enthusiasm to be shared by as many other campers as possible.

And that is exactly what BohemianVan is. Ultimate camping.

What We Drive

We personally rebuilt and customized this Mercedes Sprinter 906 to meet all our travel needs, making it our reliable companion that has accompanied us through many European countries and even taken us as far as Asia. Our love for natural materials is reflected in the vehicle's interior, which we chose not only for their aesthetic and warm qualities but also for their environmental benefits. Although these materials require extra care and regular maintenance, we believe the effort is worth it, as they contribute to a unique sense of coziness and harmony with nature during our journeys.
